I was thinking of making something special for my brother’s milestone birthday. And yes, took up the challenge to make this chessboard! I made some of the tiles with drawings things that he liked. The chess pieces were a bit whimsical with a touch of fun! The cherry on the top was when my daughter decided to also make a checkered cake to match the theme. I learned something new at the show. A big shout out to the young lady (a child psychologist herself) who told me about “worry dolls” and how my bed boxes would be a perfect fit for storing them.
